New Development

At Youngblood’s we currently develop young players of both sexes in organised training sessions throughout the week. We have found many new players through our school basketball links. At the present time we have staff going into 5 schools in Newham providing quality Basketball sessions, judging from the feed back from the teaching staff in the schools we seem to be doing a very good job.

Youngblood’s are forever growing and we welcome volunteer and coaching staff to join our Basketball  family. Youngblood’s is a Club Mark Club and we encourage educating our coach’s, parents and players not just about basketball but the well being of the players and the running of the club. We are a self-financing club with occasional help from grants from our local borough Newham. Youngbloods are also part of the Jack Petchy Awards scheme. For everyone's financial reasons our club is affordable (some say too cheap) there are no added extra’s. You are guaranteed to get lots more than you paid for.

Youngblood’s is lead by Ex England Coach Caroline Charles. Caroline feels that too much pressure is put on young people to WIN! WIN! WIN!. 'I hate to lose' remarks Coach Caroline Charles however my players are quality and Youngbloods play beautiful Basketball.  Everyone, even the losing team feels good'

The purpose of Youngbloods Basketball Club is to foster, encourage and promote the playing of the sport. This is done through Basketball.  In order to develop and uphold the qualities of physical fitness, competitive spirit, team play, school loyalty and good sportsmanship we activley encourage young people past the age of 16 to continue with sport. Healthy body, healthy mind.

Our goal is to raise the competitive level of boys and girls basketball in Newham using Youngbloods Basketball Club and school links to expose our athletes to the best players and basketball coaches from schools and colleges throughout the UK and Europe. Participation in the England Basketball National League gives our team members an invaluable experience, they will in return experience friendships and opportunities they may never have dreamed possible (possible scholarships links).

Our hope is that their experience with Youngbloods Basketball Club will continue to open doors for boys and girls who wish to partake in basketball at any level and progress, this will in turn help an increase of sport, whilst encouraging our members into working towards participating in the 2012 Olympics.
